I'd like to believe that we never stop learning.
As individuals, and indeed as a society we are constantly growing and innovating. We are becoming increasingly aware of the possibilities that the world around us holds, as well as the endless potential of the human mind. Educating children to help them step up into this world is a very important task, and it is one of the reasons I love teaching.
With the rapid growth in technology that we have seen in the last ten years, it is safe to say that children are growing up in a very different world than they did. This world is saturated in media of all kinds, and information can be accessed nearly instantly in a range of different ways. More than ever it is vital to help children find their place in this world, and develop the skills they need to be critical, innovative thinkers, and achieve to the best of their potential.
I have enjoyed my experiences teaching, and learning this year immensely. I plan not only to use the skills outlined throughout this portfolio, but also from my undergraduate degree in Journalism to help students learn and grow, in a creative and stimulating environment.
